Exciting Returns of the President Cup

Fans of horse racing, pay attention. The 31st edition of the President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses is back. The stakes are higher this year, as the prize fund has been raised to a total of Dhs5.2 million, including Dhs4.5 million for the President Cup race.

You can enjoy watching more than 100 horses participate in the races. There are seven races in all, covering different categories and distances. This event will see the highest participation in Purebred Arabian horse races at the Abu Dhabi racetrack.

If you’re wondering how this event came to be, here’s the story. The late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan wanted to highlight the importance of purebred Arabian horses, commemorating their value both, locally and globally. In 1991, he announced the President Cup for Purebred Arabian Horses as a way to do so.
