One of the biggest Ramadan market pop-ups is back as Dubai prepares for the Holy Month. The Ramadan District at Plaza Terrace near Jumeirah Emirates Towers in Dubai is back for what they’re calling season two. The Holy Month is expected to start on Monday March 11 according to astronomers while the Ramadan District will be open daily from Friday March 15 and run until Thursday April 4. Last year the area near the Museum of the Future was used as a market area during Ramadan with plenty of stalls and snacks from sunset until dawn.
Ramadan District Activities
Organiser M2L has invited brands and concepts to register for this year’s edition. Brisk, La Baguette de l’Entrecôte, and Zaroob were the first food stalls revealed for this year’s market. The market will neighbour an al fresco Ramadan Majlis area at Jumeirah Emirates Towers for Iftars and Suhoors. There will be plenty of activities with board games, interactive games, arts and crafts, and even cooking classes to keep people entertained. Henna and calligraphy artists will also have stalls alongside face painters at the big market space. Regular stage performances will also be on at the space throughout Ramadan and there a playground to keep the little ones busy. There will also be plenty of stage performances during the Holy Month at the space. The area was also used towards the end of last year until January 5 as a Winter District market. The Ramadan district will be open daily from 5pm until 2am between Friday March 15 and Thursday April 4. For the first time in 24 years, Ramadan will fall during winter time.
