FIFA has brought the World Cup to Dubai – the beach version! The 12th edition of the official beach soccer World Cup commences in Dubai on February 15th. A new temporary stadium in the Dubai Design District has been constructed for the championship.
Fast-Paced Action on the Sand
Beach soccer matches are shorter and more technical, with three 12-minute periods and teams starting with five players, including the goalkeeper. The last tournament in Moscow saw an average of 9.4 goals per match, the highest in any FIFA competition.
Top Teams and Exciting Matches
Sixteen teams will compete in Dubai, including favorites like Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and Iran. Defending champions Russia are banned from the competition. Matches will be action-packed and promises a fun day out in the sun for spectators.
