Fancy a cool number plate on your car? Well, now you can buy one. Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority announced that it’s auctioning off 350 number plates with two, three, four, and five digits for private vehicles, vintage cars, and motorbikes. The auction will begin on Monday, February 19, at 8am and last for five days. You can register via RTA’s website, RTA Dubai Drive smart app, or by visiting the Customer Happiness Centres.
Participation Requirements
- Account: You must have an account on the RTA website.
- Eligibility: You must have a vehicle registered in Dubai or a driving license issued in Dubai.
The deposit for the auction is Dhs5,000 with a non-refundable charge of Dhs120. 5 percent VAT will be applied on sold number plates.
How to Register for the Online Auction
- Step 1: Go to the RTA website, rta.ae, and log in.
- Step 2: Select ‘Auction’ from your personal dashboard.
- Step 3: Fill in the form with your details and submit.
- Step 4: Go to Licensing services.
- Step 5: Click on ‘Request for Special Plate’.
- Step 6: Navigate to the Plate auctions tab, choose Electronic Auction, and select the number to bid on.
