However, costs have gone up since the announcement was made last year. Launched by The Federal Authority for Identity, Nationality, Customs and Ports Security (ICP), the service allows visitors to extend the validity of all types of visas issued to them for 60 days for one time only. It must be done online, via the ICP website or its app via the UAE PASS, before the visitor enters the country and will cost Dhs500 – up from the initial fee of Dhs400. There’s also a 5 percent VAT fee. 60-day tourist visa Dubai: Tourists can apply online before arriving in Dubai According to the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), the guarantor or host within the country must be an agency engaged in the tourism industry. Travel companies may also need to add their own processing fee to this service. It’s cheaper to apply in advance for this 60-day visit visa, because it will cost another Dhs500 if the sponsored person is already inside the country. As for the process, applicants must fill in the required data, attach required documents and pay the fees to start off the application. Required documents include a personal photo, passport copy and for nationals from Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and Afghanistan, an identity card of their country of origin. Applicants will need to have a passport valid for six months, a travel ticket to continue their journey or leave the UAE, and valid health insurance in the country. Once completed, the applicant should know if they have been successful within 30 days. The notification will be done electronically with an email being sent to the applicant. Easy-peasy. This advance 60-day visa service is relevant to those tourists not eligible for a visa on arrival. As for how this will help Dubai residents? Well, friends and family will be able to easily stay for extended visits which is always a great option.
