Dubai Metro is set for a major upgrade with the addition of the new Dubai Metro Blue Line. The project, costing Dhs18 billion, will expand the existing public transport network in Dubai.
Key Details
The Dubai Metro Blue Line will cover a total of 30km, with 15.5km underground and 14.5km above ground. It will include 14 stations, including 3 interchange stations, connecting key areas in Dubai.
Project Commencement
The construction of the Dubai Metro Blue Line is scheduled to begin in 2024. The project aims to cater to the projected demographic growth of surrounding areas, reaching up to one million people by 2040.
Benefits and Connectivity
The new Blue Line will integrate with the existing Red and Green lines, providing a direct link between Dubai International Airport and nine principal areas along its route. The journey time between destinations is expected to range from 10 to 25 minutes.
