UAE Tour Road Closures
Are you going to be on the roads this Thursday, February 22? If so, you may have to re-think the route you’ll take as some roads are set to be temporarily closed from 12pm onwards. The annual professional cycling race, the UAE Tour, is coming to Dubai on Thursday, February 22. The UAE Tour is part of the international UCI World Tour and sees riders compete over seven days in seven stages. This year, the race will cover 985.1km and see 140 cyclists representing 20 teams compete.
Upcoming Cycling Races in Dubai
The Dubai leg of the race will see participants ride from the Dubai Police Officer’s Club down to the Al Qudra Cycle Track, to Expo City Dubai, and finally, to Dubai Harbour on Thursday. To ensure the safety of everyone, the routes the cyclists will be taking will be closed off to the public until the race is over.
Other Exciting Events in Dubai
Dubai also has two other races planned for this weekend: The 35km TotalEnergies Outride and the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge. A number of roads will be temporarily closed for these races as well. In the meantime, if sports isn’t your thing, don’t worry, there’s still a lot going on in the city. From the return of Phantom of the Opera to a retro music fest, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
