One of the UAE’s most hotly-anticipated new hotels, the Santorini-inspired Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat, is finally opening its doors tomorrow. Time to get your Europe vacay vibes on.
UAE residents love staycations and what could be better than this coastal boutique resort, that’s located midway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The ultra-private Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat has just 22 rooms, and stands in Ghantoot, a 35-minute drive from the newly named Zayed International Airport. Drawing inspiration from its namesake island, the gorgeous resort features low-lying white buildings, with private balconies from which you can enjoy unspoiled sea views.
There’s a private beach and an outdoor pool overlooking the Gulf, as well as an indoor cinema. You’ll also be able to book in for spa treatments at private beachside cabanas, and burn some calories at the fitness centre. Credit: Anantara Santorini Abu Dhabi Retreat
Food and Dining Experience
On the food front, Thalassa is an oceanside restaurant serving up Greek cuisine, as well as an Arabic restaurant Oia oasis, “dedicated to the heritage of the region, where local ingredients and spices are brought to the fore”. Both restaurants at this Santorini-inspired hotel are licensed so late night mixed drinks are definitely on the cards.
