April 13: Alone

Based on works by American playwright Don Nigro, Alone is a production with rich monologues about relationships, loneliness and the fear of love. The play has been directed by Nikita Kobelyev.

April 20: Ölün Bizi Ayırana Dek

Turkish play Ölün Bizi Ayırana Dek is coming to town.

Roughly translated, the title of the show means ‘till death do us part’. The Turkish two-act black comedy introduces the audience to a couple who are on the verge of divorce when they attend a party. The next morning they wake up with little memory of the night before and a corpse on their sofa.

April 28: Travesía Colombia

Travesía Colombia is a celebration of Colombia.

Follow two Arabic journalists as they travel to Columbia from the UAE and discover a vibrant new world. Music and dance twirl through the narrative of exploration and discovery. With a cast of 45 professional Colombian dancers, musicians, and actors, the show promises to be a rich tapestry of storytelling.

May 9-10: Ennio Morricone – The Official Concert Celebration

The Armenian Symphony Orchestra and Dubai Festival Chorus are paying tribute to Ennio Morricone this May. The ensembles will play scores from movies such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once Upon a Time in the West, and Cinema Paradiso for two nights only on Thursday May 9 and Friday May 10.

May 11: Star Wars: A New Hope in Concert

This is a whole new way to experience a movie. The Armenian State Symphony under the baton of conductor Anthony Gabriele will play the score live as you watch Disney’s Star Wars: A New Hope on the big screen. Travel to a galaxy far, far away, and see the struggle for freedom unfold as the Rebel Alliance battles the sinister Galactic Empire.

May 11-12: The Lion Inside

A heart-warming tale of courage and self-discovery, The Lion Inside is about a little mouse who wants nothing more than to be able to express himself, to roar like a lion, to have himself heard. By the end of the story, he discovers he is perfect the way he is.

May 12: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Live in Concert

Sail away on an adventure with Captain Jack Sparrow this May. Helping you really get into the spirit will be Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and Dubai Festival Chorus who, conducted by Anthony Gabriele, will perform the music of the movie live as you watch. The movie will reel you back to the 18th century where the roguish yet charming Captain Jack Sparrow sets sail on the Black Pearl.

May 13: Charlie Chaplin’s The Kid Live in Concert

Charlie Chaplin’s ‘The Kid’ becomes more poignant in this showing thanks to a live orchestra that plays in time with the screening. The Armenian Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Timothy Brock, play as the story of the Tramp and his unexpected companion unfolds.

May 18-19: The Gruffalo’s Child Live on Stage!

The Gruffalo’s Child Live on Stage!

This play follows the Gruffalo’s young child as she heads to the woods to find the Big Bad Mouse. Will she find him? And more importantly, if she does, will she get away? The musical adaptation of the beloved storybook by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler has been called warm, witty and everything that good children’s theatre should be.

May 25-26: Rome Opera Ballet
