On Wednesday April 17, the United Arab Emirates announced that the worst storm to ever hit the country is officially over.

In a post on social media, the UAE Ministry of the Interior said that the weather fluctuations have ended and that the country is now moving into a period of recovery, after the stormy UAE weather wreaked havoc on infrastructure and transport.

Many cars were left abandoned in the floods overnight, alongside homes across the UAE left saturated after the city saw more than 142 millimetres falling between Monday and Tuesday. For context, the average rainfall over an entire year in Dubai is around 94 millimetres.

But now, many eateries in Dubai are coming together to help those in need by giving away free food in Dubai, from meals to pints.

These initiatives may restart your car, but a homecooked meal readily waiting for you may just help to turn your day around.
