Launched slap bang in the middle of the pandemic by British chef Daniel Pickin, Dan’s Home Food is one of the most authentic British takeaways in Dubai. High Joint

High Joint may have expanded from its tiny haunt in Al Manara, yet it’s here that people love to draw in queues of 4x4s on weekends to pick up a bunch of its small yet perfectly-formed burgers. We, however, recommend making the most of Deliveroo and ordering to your home. What can we say, we’re lazy like that.

We’re particularly fond of the Double High premium double beef patty with double American cheese, diced onions and homemade pickles, as well as the High Jamz – a smashed beef patty topped with caramelised onions and beef bacon. Magnolia

Got an important birthday coming up? Or can you just not get enough of its world-famous banana pudding? Whatever the occasion, there’s good reason why Magnolia is one of the most popular cake deliveries in Dubai. A cute New York bakery that needs no introduction – it rocketed into the spotlight thanks to Carrie Bradshaw and friends – it offers everything from cookies and cupcakes to buttery cakes serving up to 28 people.

While we’d never usually suggest missing out on the whimsical interiors and endless selfie opportunities that make Tania’s Teahouse the dreamy destination that it is, sometimes life gets in the way. Lucky then that its cakes, macarons and all things sweet are available for delivery across Dubai. Its signature pastel-hued unicorn cheesecake is our favourite treat on the menu, but there’s plenty more where that came from. Dubai’s first ever online dessert bakery is still one of the best, offering everything from fluffy sponges and silky-smooth cheesecakes to creative bakes complete with toffee popcorn, Lotus biscuits, Oreos and sprinkles. Royal China

Located in the heart of DIFC, Royal China is a stalwart of Dubai’s Chinese food scene, popular for its consistently good eats and its elegant take on authentic dishes. And that’s why it’s won many an award from Time Out Dubai. The menu stars a fantastic range of Cantonese and regional Chinese dishes, with plenty on offer for vegetarians and a dedicated dim sum menu, which is a specialty at the restaurant. Han Cuisine

Han Cuisine might be on the pricier side when it comes to Chinese deliveries in Dubai, but expect nothing but deliciousness from this home-grown eatery. The Great Wall has quietly been delivering one of Dubai’s finest Chinese prawn curries to those in the Downtown Dubai area and beyond for a good while, and people are finally starting to catch on. Al Baik

There’s so much more to fried chicken deliveries in Dubai than KFC, and that’s where Al Baik comes in. This Saudi fast-food chain might have only made its way to Dubai in 2021, but it’s already a huge hit thanks to its crispy golden nuggs, fried chicken meals and shawarmas. Delivery is available to a huge number of areas adjacent to its MOE and Dubai Mall branches, so don’t miss out on your chick fix.

It will be love at first bite when you dig into one of Jaibird’s Sando Melt. Perfectly toasted sandwich bread, tender Nashville-spiced chicken and oozing cheese, it’s an eating experience to say the least. As perhaps the most popular homegrown chicken restaurant on our list, it’s a shame that delivery doesn’t quite reach the whole city yet, but if you’re close to one of its five different locations then you’re in luck.

Wingsters

While we might be talking about fried chicken deliveries, let’s take a moment to appreciate the wings at Wingsters – they’re in the name, after all. Coming slathered in a whole load of sauces, there’s everything from the Korean Henchman (spicy Korean barbeque), The Snitch (sweet chili), Mickey Blue Eyes (signature sweet honey infused garlic), and an overall 22 flavours to choose from. Yea, not bad at all.

Brick Lane Dubai

Dubai’s OG Indian takeaway, food from this British-style curry house in Barsha is the closest you’ll find to its namesake Brick Lane E1 in London, Blighty. The menu has it all – chicken tikka masala (with helpings of sugar), flavourful vindaloos and even the fruity favourite, the Kashmiri curry, and while delivery is available through the apps, you get 15 percent off when ordering direct from the website, so why not save some dirhams for extra poppadoms? Delivery covers a wide range of areas including New Dubai hotspots Meydan, Dubai Hills and Al Barari.

Bob’s Curry House

If you’re a Brit living in Dubai, chances are you’ve ordered from Bob’s Fish & Chips at least once. Well now the city’s best-known chip shop brand has branched out to create Bob’s Curry House, delivering British-style Indian food to neighbourhoods across Dubai.

Charlie Khan’s

Missing a classic doner kebab? Fear not, as Charlie Khan’s can deliver straight to your door to satisfy those cravings. Calling all Scots, the restaurant even sells Irn Bru, so it really feels like home. If you don’t fancy a kebab, there are curries, burgers and pizzas on the menu too.

Gazebo

What was once an unassuming curry chain tucked away at the side of Mankhool Road, Gazebo now has a whopping 14 restaurants in Dubai, each offering an authentic range of north Indian fare. Food is fresh and flavoursome, while the bill is a pleasant surprise, so it’s a great option for larger groups. Various locations including Ibn Battuta, Al Barhsa, JLT and City Centre Deira. One of the newer additions to Dubai’s Indian takeaway scene, this Dubai Marina restaurant is fast became popular for its belly-busting doner kebabs. The British-style Indian also delivers a mean butter chicken, chili cheese garlic naan, cheese and curry chips, and wait for it – a lamb doner pizza. And if you don’t know about munchboxes… Well, here’s where to get acquainted. Delivery available all over Dubai.

Mint Leaf of London

One for DIFC dwellers, you might not get to enjoy Mint Leaf of London’s Burj Khalifa views from the comfort of your sofa, but you can still dig into its high-quality Indian fare thanks to Deliveroo.

If you’re a fan of curries then you won’t be disappointed, as at the heart of the restaurant’s menu are wonderfully fragrant and subtly-spiced dishes (including an excellent dhal makhani and sea bass mussalam) and grills (prawns roasted in Goan coconut sauce and tandoor lamb chops). Although in fairness, it’s all absolutely delicious.

Al Beiruti

While there’s barely a night that Al Beiruti doesn’t do a roaring trade, that doesn’t mean they skimp on their takeaway orders – with super-fast service, these guys serve up one of our favourite Lebanese deliveries in Dubai.

Winner of our Best Lebanese Restaurants 2022, you’ll find all the usual suspects on the menu here, including zaatar hummus, loaded fries and a perfectly seasoned chicken shawarma which is the ultimate in comfort food.

Al Falamanki

Something of a Lebanese legend in Dubai, beloved Beirut restaurant Al Falamanki brings to life the story of Al Khalil Al Falamanki, who lived a rich, colourful life in 1960’s Lebanon. There’s a humongous selection of cold and hot mezze, salads, grills and sides, as well as fluffy breads served hot from the oven – but there is a catch…you’ll need to live near Jumeirah 2 to enjoy this delicious Lebanese delivery at home.

Al Safadi

A regular Time Out Restaurant Awards nominee (it came highly commended on this year’s list), Al Safadi has been serving up simple yet flavoursome food since 2000. A Lebanese delivery that needs to be tried, indulge in a feast of meaty grills, piles of freshly chopped tabbouleh and crisp falafel. Delivery is available throughout Dubai.

Allo Beirut

Fabulously kitsch and colourful, this bijou neighbourhood restaurant is no-frills Lebanese cuisine at its finest. Its chefs rustle up street food classics including shawarma, roast chicken (don’t forget the garlic sauce) and a killer cheese manakish cooked in a traditional brick oven, and all at prices that won’t break the bank. The best bit? With three Dubai locations, they deliver all over.

Zaroob

Super-cheap, always decent, not too unhealthy. Just three reasons why we love a Lebanese takeaway from Zaroob. Burro Blanco

Born in Abu Dhabi but now operating in Dubai as a delivery-only joint, Burro Blanco is a homegrown street food concept that’s well worth planning a night in for. With its fuss-free approach to food, don’t expect fancy packaging but what you can expect is tasty, reasonably priced burritos, bowls, tacos and some creative Mexcian-fusion dishes. Chef Reif Othman needs no introduction, and neither does his home-grown, casual outlet serving affordable, street food-style Japanese food in Dar Wasl Mall. A casual Japanese eatery that has been on the Dubai dining scene since 2000, it’s still a popular spot for super-tasty sushi delivered direct to your door. Boasting a menu that will transport you direct to Istanbul – Günaydin has roots that stretch back to a humble butchery in Istanbul’s Bostancı neighbourhood – chefs sure do know their way around a good cut of meat, which is no surprise given its co-founder chef Cüneyt Asan was the former mentor of Salt Bae, aka Nusret Gökçe. Sultan Saray

Highly commended as one of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in Dubai, Sultan Saray is one of the city’s top venues for an excellent Turkish takeaway in Dubai. Here chefs whip up pillowy flatbreads, mezze and kebabs, with mains focusing on lovely grilled meats. Its salads and small plates are all excellent too – especially when enjoyed in front of Netflix.
