As the heat ramps up, it’s time to slowly say au revoir to weekends outdoors, and start looking at where to cool off.
But as the heat builds, so does our excitement for what’s coming up this month, from iconic concerts to some stunning staycations.

Take a fleeting trip to the winding streets of Rome or the scenic Amalfi Coast with Italian Film Week at the Alserkal Avenue cinema. Screening the works of some incredible Italian directors from the ’50s and ’60s, get the popcorn out for the showing of Adriano Valerio’s Casablanca on Saturday.
Or head along on Sunday to watch a group of young Italians try to achieve their dreams (or ‘chimeras’) in Alice Rohrwacher’s Chimera.

Visit Miracle Gardens
The stunning outdoor gardens will close for the summer on June 2, so make sure to squeeze in a trip before then.
Home to 150 million flowers, snap a selfie next to the huge floral Emirates A380, let the little ones run around Smurf Village, and keep an eye on the time at the gigantic flower clock.
A top Dubai attraction, you won’t be able to visit again for a few months – don’t say we didn’t warn you.

Make a gorgeous flower arrangement
Freshen up your home for summer with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, but this time… you’ll be arranging the bouquet yourself. Get your craft on and piece together a selection of petals perfect for you, all the while being guided by the Floral Manager of BloomingBox. Try a new Italian brunch
Escape to the Sicilian countryside for the afternoon and celebrate Italian National Day at the Evviva brunch. The British comedian will be making audiences sides split on June 2 when he takes to the stage at the Theatre by QE2. Last in Dubai in 2023, the award-winning presenter will be sharing some of his latest material, and it’s sure to be hilarious. Although you won’t be able to get targeted in a front row seat (they’re sold out), there are still plenty available for you to head along and have a good laugh.

Try out Wellness Week at ICD
You’re about to get spoilt to not just one day, but one whole week of free fitness classes and challenges at ICD Brookfield Place.

Fancy a burger a week for the next year? If you’re all about the patty, make sure you get down to The Stable’s Hops & Burger Festival this weekend. Running until June 8, you have plenty of time to take on the eating challenge, and if you get the fastest time, the year’s supply is all yours.

Spend the day at DRIFT
A staple of the cooler months, DRIFT beach club will be closing over the hotter period from mid-June, so take your last chance to sunbathe and dip in that iconic pool. The all-day Mexican dining spot has just touched down in Alserkal following the success of its sister restaurant Lila Taqueira.

Watch Jason Derulo live
American singer-songwriter Jason Derulo is set to perform at the Coca-Cola Arena this month. His Dubai show will be the final date on his global tour this year. Feast at an Eid Al Adha buffet
