Travelling with the little ones can be challenging at times, especially when you’ve got a long flight ahead or delays are thrown into the mix.
But flying en masse doesn’t have to be stressful, especially when Dubai International Airport has plenty of ways to keep kids entertained and help them burn off some energy before you board.
As well as its spas, napping pods and restaurants, DXB has some fab features designated to entertaining the little ones.

Have a look inside the LEGO Store
Nothing says keeping busy like a LEGO build project, right? So, make a stop at the world’s largest LEGO store in an airport, and browse some of the incredible Dubai kits you can take on holiday.
A paradise for LEGO lovers, let kids admire some of the incredible structures in-store, and enjoy the interactive features. When you enter the store, take them straight to the mini-figure scanner, which will create them a mini-figure doppelganger and bring your children to life in LEGO’s brilliant block form. You can even stock up on kits to do your trip, though our advice is no unboxing on the plane – nobody wants to lose that last important piece of the LEGO puzzle!

Grab a bite at Giraffe World Kitchen

Skip the traipsing up and down your terminal trying to find the best place to feed the little ones and head straight to Giraffe. It has a full children’s menu, so you can fill their tummies with fish fingers, burgers, pizza and chicken popcorn quickly before you board.
It’s ideal for fussy eaters too, and there’s some healthy options too, such as salads and wraps, if you want a bit of greenery on their plates before you embrace the (inevitable) ‘anything goes’ rule once on board.

Try out the Family Zone
A good spot to let the kids burn off some pre-flight energy, you can let them clamber and run about safely at this kid-friendly space. Taking inspiration from the Arabian desert, the topography of the floor mirrors sand dunes and gives plenty of space for kids to enjoy.
They can also make camp on one of the benches, have fun playing on the fake grass, watch a little parent-approved TV on the screens or make use of the creative equipment designed to inspire young minds. There’s also an interactive games zone and a climbing area, perfect for kids with energy to burn.
