Bento-Ya
You will find good food and fair prices Bento-Ya. The low-key restaurant around the back of Sheikh Zayed Road is a firm favourite of residents. Here, a meal for two can set you back less than Dhs200, pretty much regardless of what you order. If you’ve become accustomed to Japanese fusion, or are an ardent vegetarian, you may find much of the menu a touch too authentic.

Be warned, however, if you’re the kind of diner that likes a cool, calm venue, with slick service and artisanal tableware, this is not that place. What you will get at Kimura-ya is a bustling atmosphere, dishes arriving to your table haphazardly, and plates and bowls of food that taste so much better than they look.
