Starting June 14, head to Matagi to try a modern Japanese menu, while grooving to the tunes of a live DJ that will set the tone for a fun night. To start the evening, light bites such as homemade Japanese pickles and sea-salted edamame are followed with a selection of cold starters such as spicy tuna on crispy rice, and beef tataki with truffle ponzu, or hot starters such as the prawn gyoza with Matagi chilli paste and crispy calamari. Main dishes include lamb chops prepared with gochujang and wasabi chimichurri and the salmon fillet marinated with teriyaki glaze topped with garlic chives, complemented with a choice of sides.

StreetXO
StreetXO, created by famed chef Dabiz Muñoz, now hosts a weekly StreetXOland Brunch at One Za’abeel in Dubai. The brunch features a sharing-style menu with global street food inspirations from Spain and the Far East, including dishes like wagyu croquetas, sweet & sour hamachi tiradito, taco de pulpo, Pekinese dumplings, saam cheeseburger, and bogavante with king crab and caviar. Desserts feature churros con chocolate, cucuruchos, and fluido, a white chocolate and egg yolk lava cake with tom kha ice cream and coconut crumble. The brunch will also serve traditional StreetXO red grape and Spanish grape. The weekly event promises to be a lively one with animated staff and surprise characters.

New Brunches in Dubai: May 2024
Amazónico
Amazónico Dubai is hosting a weekly Saturday brunch featuring Latin American flavours, paired with premium beverages. A major element of this brunch is music, which is the “beating heart” of the jungle-themed Saturday brunch experience. There will be a DJ on the decks from 2pm, blending Latin-inspired sounds while you dine on sushi starters, from ginshake nigiri, a king salmon prepared with banana miso cream and chives, to arepas con carne. Your choice of mains includes baby chicken or sea bass romesco. Finish with a dulce de leche milk cake and pina rostizada. The brunch experience will also feature live performances from a percussionist and trumpeter making an appearance across the three-story restaurant, with an after-party at the Lounge from 4pm until 6pm, for those wanting the celebration to last even longer.

Japanese restaurant OKKU launches a new “Disco Brunch” that’s inspired by the 80s and 90s. Here, you’ll get a special brunch menu, upbeat music, colourful Japanese grape barrels, disco balls and refreshing beverages. Taking place every Saturday from 1pm to 4.30pm with an after-party from 4.30pm to 6pm. Groove to classic hits from the 80s, 90s and naughties as well as popular R&B tunes, while you enjoy dishes like seaweed salad, spinach goma or duck salad and mains like black cod, miso salmon teriyaki and more. Tapasake
Tapasake at the One&Only One Za’abeel has unveiled a brand new Saturday brunch, which gives you access to its record-breaking swimming pool when you book brunch. The pool is located in The Link, the world’s longest cantilever (panoramic sky podium), and is straddled between the dual towers of One Za’abeel, perched atop the structure 100 metres high.
Expect plates of Nikkei dishes including sushi, sashimi, ceviche, tiradito and izakaya tapas for sharing. The afternoon affair also features a resident DJ, refreshing unlimited drinks, and a chance to level up your Instagram feed. Brunch takes place from 1pm until 4pm in the restaurant, and then you get complimentary pool access from 4pm until 6pm.

Trader Vic’s Souk Madinat
The OG Souk Madinat spot hosts a Saturday brunch every first and last Saturday of the month, from 1pm to 4pm. Featuring the foot-thumping rhythms of the Havana Bit four-piece Cuban band, expect to be serenaded with the sounds of Cuba, while you dine on island-inspired dishes from seafood to barbecue. Make sure you stick around for the post-brunch happy hour from 4pm to 7pm.

XU
XU, the Chinese restaurant located at Kempinski Hotel, Mall of the Emirates hosts a weekly karaoke brunch, featuring Chinese cuisine with an added touch of karaoke. You’ll get a selection of Chinese-inspired dishes including a variety of appetizers, the chef’s dim sum selection, main courses and a dessert platter. And knowing XU, it’s definitely going to be a vibey atmosphere.

Azure
Azure Beach at Rixos Premium Dubai JBR, hosts a weekly evening pool brunch every Sunday. The brunch features three hours of free-flowing drinks and a food platter for Dhs300 per person. Dishes include salt and pepper squid, Spanish croquettes, chicken satay and plenty more, all served alongside an unlimited house selection of hops, grape and more. The venue’s resident DJ will keep the tempo high throughout the night.

Chalco’s Cantina
The Saturday Mexican brunch at Chalco’s Cantina offers up authentic Mexican dishes including a super starter platter with delicious quesadillas, taquitos, chicken wings, and nachos followed by a generous buffet featuring Mexican favourites such as traditional pozole rojo, enchiladas, rostadas and tasty desserts including arroz con leche. Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Deira Creek is bringing back it’s brunch from 1975. The Heritage Brunch celebrates the iconic dishes that made Dubai brunches what they are today. The hotel, which claims it is “the original creators of Dubai’s Friday brunch”, will feature a selection of historical specialties at a lineup of current and past restaurants like Fish Market, Shabestan, and past favourites including Picasso and Checkers. Head there to enjoy a variety of activities like balloon twisting and cooking classes for children, and a post-brunch party with a DJ. The event also features a raffle draw offering prizes like complimentary drinks and tapas. How very nostalgic.

If you fancy a brunch with a view then look no further than the Sky Brunch at O Dubai. The newly launched Saturday offering promises brilliant views of the Dubai skyline from the 50th floor of the Voco Hotel. You’ll get DJs spinning tracks from 3pm until 7pm as well as tasty bites and drinks.

The Coterie has launched a new “A Day at the Races Brunch” every Saturday from 1pm to 4pm, giving you the race day experience directly to your table. The new brunch experience includes interactive “dine and win” action, fluttering on the horses with Coterie coins and other race day-themed games. Clay Dubai
The Nikkei spot in Bluewaters Dubai offers up delicious dishes, views of Ain Dubai and an afternoon filled with music, dancing and live performances. Partnering up with Secret Parties, the Clay Nikkei Brunch presents a four-course sharing style spread with dishes like Japanese edamame, ceviche, nigiri and beef tenderloin. Make sure you stay for the afterparty, which runs until 7.30pm.
