As the heat cranks up outside, Dubai is laying on a series of gigs and more than 1,000 shopping deals during the hot summer months.

Now in its 27th year, Dubai Summer Surprises offers plenty of incentives and opportunities to residents and visitors alike in the emirate.

The programme, led by the Government of Dubai and Dubai Tourism, promises 65 days of fun, huge discounts and even big prizes.

It will kick off with the Dubai 12-hour sale on Friday June 28 with up to 90 per cent off on some of the city’s most popular brands between 10am and 10pm.

It will run from Friday June 28 until Sunday September 1 and brings big concerts, huge sales and even big prizes to the city.

Time Out Dubai will be sharing all of the best deals, sales and events to check out, but here’s a sneak peek into what to expect.

Live music with Dubai Summer Surprises

The summer party will get started at Coca-Cola Arena with three big concerts this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Expect Arabic stars, hip-hop legends, an African concert and more.

Another key part of the Dubai Summer Surprises is the return of DXB Beat the Heat for a third year.

Running on back-to-back weekends starting on Friday July 12 until Saturday July 13 as well as Friday July 19 and Saturday July 20, it’ll feature acts covering a variety of popular genres including rap, indie and pop.

In addition to the live music, the festival will also feature a series of games and competitions which are hoped to appeal to the Gen Z audience.

Throughout the summer, there will be more than 20 entertainment events covering live music, comedy and more in the city.

Modesh World with Dubai Summer Surprises

Dubai is celebrating the 25th anniversary of its popular children’s character Modesh with a series of events dedicated to the lovable mascot.

Offering up everything from live shows to rides and even funfair-style games, Modesh World is a jam-packed day out for the whole family.

Boasting 170 attractions over 22,000 square metres, families can expect new additions from an inflatable park to an arcade with over 100 games and VR experiences.

Movie Magic with Dubai Summer Surprises

One for the film buffs or just for those who want a lovely family day out, Movie Magic returns to ROXY Cinemas across the city during the entire Dubai Summer Surprises period.

You can expect big premieres of the summer blockbusters, celebrity appearances and ladies’ night experiences.

Family days out with Movie Magic include face painting, special kids combo deals and a chance to get your picture taken with film mascots.

Raffles and prizes with Dubai Summer Surprises

There will be plenty of opportunities to win big prizes with Dhs25 million worth of prizes to be won including cash, jewellery, gold and cars.

Daily prizes will be on offer at Dubai Festival City Mall including the grand prize of 2 Lexus cars.

If you spend more than Dhs300 across Wafi City then you’ll have the chance to win some massive diamonds too (yes, please).

Shopping with Dubai Summer Surprises

Things get underway with a huge 12 hour flash sale with up to 90 per cent off on big brands in the city.

During opening weekend, Dubai Festival City Mall, Mirdif City Centre and Mall of Emirates will see musical performances, experiences and family-oriented events throughout the venues.

For the rest of the sales season, discounts will be between 25 per cent and 75 per cent until the beginning of September.

And for families planning ahead for the return of kids to class, expect back-to-school offers across the city between Monday August 5 and Thursday August 29.

Promotions include a chance to win learning devices when you spend Dhs500 and a chance to win a Modesh scholarship at Nakheel Malls.

There will also be interactive decorations and installations in more than nine malls across the city.

Summer Restaurant Week returns with Dubai Summer Surprises

Starting on Friday August 23 until Sunday September 1, the summer restaurant week will see 50 restaurants taking part.

Dedicated set menus will be available at the 50 mall-based restaurants including leading international and domestic brands.
