Thanks to Dubai’s sweltering heat, many of us have slowly been retreating indoors.
But, that doesn’t mean our itineraries have been easing off the gas.
In fact, for team Time Out Dubai, the summer is sizzling as we’ve got some great stuff in the diary for July.
From Euro 2024 to the latest blockbusters, Dubai is brimming with indoor entertainment, (with AC included of course) and we’re not just talking about what’s on at the cinema.

What to watch this summer in Dubai

What I’m watching this week: Wimbledon
I’m thrilled that Wimbledon is back on our screens. And although I’m not perched at Centre Court (or Murray Mound) over in London, there’s plenty of buzz here in Dubai, so you’re never too far away from watching the action on the big screen.
I’ll be heading to The Nine, a British gastropub, nestled in Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk for its traditional strawberry serving and grazing platter for an incredible Dhs95.
There are plenty of other hotspots in Dubai showing this epic tennis tournament, and we imagine more places will roll out the big screen as we approach the major final.

What I can’t wait to see this summer: Dinner and a show at Josette
The Parisian restaurant has recently announced a line-up of weekly entertainment, from individual singers to pianists, violinists and even a full live band.
Each performing at different times throughout the week, diners will be treated to sweet melodies while they tuck into the elegant French menu.
Looking to make a booking? Here are all the incredible places to catch live performances with epic menus only.
Name a better way to stay out of Dubai’s sweltering heat…
Don’t miss out on: Fly Me To The Moon
Scarlett Johansson is back on our screens with a 1960s comedy-drama.
Taking you back to the time of the Apollo 11 moon landing, this popcorn flick follows every piece of this historic event’s preparations. If science isn’t your thing, you needn’t worry.
This movie is more chick-flick than school textbook (with some factual moments thrown in of course). Oh, Channing Tatum also has a starring role. Need we say more?

What I’m watching this week: Euro 2024
Last time I spoke to you guys I was at the height of Euro 2024 fever. Scotland hadn’t played a match yet, and I lived in a world where my national pride hadn’t taken a kicking. It was a simpler time. A better time.
Despite Scotland’s shambolic showing, my enthusiasm for the Euros has not (yet) wavered! With the competition now in the knockout rounds, it’s time to head to the fan zones and duck for cover so that no one’s pint flies in my face when a big goal hits the back of the net. I’ll be soaking up the atmosphere (and hopefully no hops) at Barasti.
What I can’t wait to see this summer: Olympics 2024
You might think that after the Euros, T20 cricket World Cup and Wimbledon I’d be all sported-out (that’s a phrase, right?) – well, think again! I’m ready to do the whole routine again as the Olympics gets underway in Paris later this month.
I’ll obviously be keeping an eye on the football part of the games and can’t help but be intrigued by the new break-dancing event. As ever, there are many venues all across Dubai showing the Olympic games this summer.
Don’t miss out on: Comedy at Bla Bla
I’m gonna head along to the second instalment of comedy at the Bla Bla this summer. They’re putting on a show about adjusting to life in Dubai which, having moved here from sunny Scotland in January, will be right up my street.
I know only too well just how different life is for newbies in the city so can only imagine how many other folk are in the same boat. If you’ve just moved here, we’ve got a guide on the top 10 first things you should do — you can thank us later.

What I’m watching this week: A Quiet Place Day One
This week I’m desperate to get to the big screen for A Quiet Place Day One — it’s definitely one to watch this summer.
You’ll find me braced for a jump-scare in one of the front rows, trying to shovel in popcorn without making a sound (just in case).
If you haven’t watched the previous films, make sure you binge through them before watching the prequel, which is all about how the world becoming so eerily silent. The prequel was released at the end of June, so make sure to catch a screening before it’s too late.
What I can’t wait to watch this summer: Dinner at Movie Eats
For me this summer is all about blockbusters, meaning my plan is to bag a seat at the next Movie Eats screening at Teatro.
Letting you nibble on the same dishes as the menu in a given movie, you get to experience things a little differently – plus receive a full dinner, which is also a win.
Upcoming nights include Shrek (weed rat roast anyone?) and even Chef in a few weeks time — but you have to be quick because they sell out fast.
Don’t miss out on: F1 season
If you’re an F1 fan, this might be the closest you ever get to feeling like you’re on the track. Hear the roar of those magical engines at Vox Cinema’s screenings up until the end of the season.
The next live race will watch the drivers rag around Silverstone in the UK, so get comfortable to watch them raise that checkered flag.
