Dubai International Airport (DXB) is predicting a total of 3.3 million guests from now until Wednesday July 17.
During this period, 914,000 guests are expected to fly out of the airport, with the peak of this travel set to boom over the weekend of Friday July 12 to Sunday July 14, when DXB will welcome around 840,000 guests, marking the busiest weekend during this period.
Saturday July 13 is projected to be the single busiest day, with an estimated 286,000 people roaming its airport, while the average travel day elsewhere in the year typically welcomes around 10,000 fewer guests.

Following the expected passenger intake, the airport has advised all passengers to allow extra time for check-in, security screening, and boarding processes to ensure a smooth journey.

DXB’s travel tips to know
- Emirates passengers are encouraged to take advantage of the early and self-check-in facilities, including city check-in options.
- flydubai passengers are advised to arrive at least four hours prior to departure.
- Guests flying with other airlines should aim to arrive at DXB no earlier than three hours before their scheduled departure time, utilising online check-in where available to save time.
- Familiarise yourself with your airline’s baggage allowance and packing regulations. Avoid last-minute surprises by checking in ahead of time.
- Save time at security screening by being prepared. Place metal items— watch, jewellery, mobile phone, coins, belt— in your hand luggage and follow the directed guidelines for carrying liquids, aerosols, and gels.-
- Families with children over 12 can speed up the passport control process by using Smart Gates.

Earlier this year, the international airport was named the most luxurious airport in the world, according to a recent survey by medical insurance company, AllClear.
Out of the 1,800 airports vetted and scrutinised, it was Dubai’s international terminals that came out on top.

Despite it being the busiest airport in the world, this doesn’t stop the 90 million passengers DXB welcomed in 2023 from having a luxurious experience.
In fact, in April 2024, it was also named the world’s busiest international airport by ACI World for the ninth year in a row.
DXB securing the spot for the world’s most international passengers makes sense too, as flights here fly to 229 destinations across 99 countries on more than 88 international carriers.
Which destinations are most popular with travellers? By volume, India came top of the charts with 9.8 million passengers last year, followed by Saudi Arabia with 4.9 million passengers. 2022 also saw 4.6 million passengers flying to the UK and 3.7 million taking a flight to Pakistan.
