New Bus Routes Launch in Dubai to Enhance Public Transport Connectivity
Getting around the vibrant city of Dubai is about to become even more convenient with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announcing the introduction of four new bus routes. These routes are designed to improve connections to some of the city’s busiest Metro stations and facilitate smoother commutes for both residents and visitors alike.
Effective Friday, August 30, the new routes will significantly reduce travel times across the city. The previously existing Route 31 will be replaced by two newly established routes: F39 and F40. The F39 will operate from the Etisalat Bus Station to the Oud Al Muteena Roundabout Bus Stop and back, running every 30 minutes. Meanwhile, the F40 will also commence from Etisalat Bus Station, providing service to and from Mirdif, Street 78, also on a half-hourly basis. These changes will enhance public transport accessibility to the Etisalat Metro Station.
In addition to this, the old F56 route will be replaced by two new routes, F58 and F59. The F58 will travel northward from Al Khail Bus Station to Dubai Internet City and back, operating every 30 minutes. Similarly, the F59 will run from Dubai Internet City to Dubai Knowledge Village and return, maintaining the same frequency.
The existing Route 21 will undergo a redesign, splitting into two distinct routes: 21A and 21B. The 21A will commence from the Al Quoz Clinical Pathology Services Bus Stop 1 and travel to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, while the 21B will operate in the reverse direction. This restructuring is intended to simplify route navigation for passengers, making it easier for them to plan their journeys effectively.
For those utilizing the intercity Route E700 to Fujairah, please note that the starting point will now shift from Union Bus Station to Etisalat Bus Station. This change aims to streamline connections and improve service efficiency.
In Dubai, the Route 61D will be merged with Route 66, while Route 95 will combine with Route 95A, resulting in a simplified Route 95A effective from Friday onward. This new route will cover the area starting from Veneto, Jebel Ali Waterfront to Parco Hypermarket, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
Additional modifications include a shortened path for Route 6, which will now run from Oud Metha Metro Station to Dubai Healthcare City. Meanwhile, Route 99 will be adjusted to cover JAFZA One, and Route F31 will incorporate new stops in The Greens. New bus stops will also be added in Al Furjan for Route F45, while Route F54 will remove the JAFZA One stop from its itinerary.
The RTA has announced enhancements aimed at ensuring timely arrivals for a total of 35 bus routes. These routes include 6, 20B, 26, 36A, 36B, 50, 66, 83, 88, 95A, 96, 99, 320, C01, C09, C10, F03, F05, F07, F10, F18, F23, F23A, F24, F31, F45, F46, F47, F49, F53, F54, SM1, X02, X25, and X92.
