My weekend favorite: Hammer Burger
Why it’s worth a visit: In a city bursting with dining options, it’s a challenge for any burger joint to truly stand out. However, Hammer Burger, which recently opened a location at The Market Island, manages to do just that. I discovered this gem while wandering through Dubai Festival City Mall, drawn in by the enticing aroma. I opted for the Lucy Burger, and let me tell you, it was a revelation. The burger features a generous portion of crispy, juicy chicken, generously slathered with their signature Lucy Sauce, and topped with aged cheddar cheese. If you’re craving a burger, this should be on your radar!

My weekend favorite: Blended Wellness
Why it’s worth a visit: This wellness hub seamlessly integrates fitness classes and salon services, leaving you feeling rejuvenated. Located at Dukes The Palm Hotel, Blended Wellness offers a variety of unique packages and events, some even free of charge. Most Saturdays, you’ll find me participating in their complimentary 5km beach walk, where I’m rewarded with a fantastic goody bag and a protein shake filled with vouchers and products. Afterward, a luxurious massage with a facial at an unbeatable price awaits. This hidden treasure is now out in the open—be sure to check the online schedule for upcoming sessions!

My weekend favorite: 1004 Gourmet
Why it’s worth a visit: You might wonder why a supermarket holds a special place in my weekend plans, but 1004 Gourmet is far from ordinary. Nestled in Onyx Tower at The Greens, this quirky shop is a treasure trove of Asian snacks, collagen gels, and delightful moon ice creams. Don’t miss the Seoul St café, famous for its viral tiramisu ice cream. The real gem, though, is the back section—a Korean skincare paradise filled with all the viral products you’ve seen on TikTok, all at reasonable prices. Just please leave a few items on the shelf for me!
Open Mon-Sat 9am-10pm, Sun 11am-9pm. Onyx Tower, The Greens. Visit: 1004gourmet.com

My weekend favorite: Kinoya
Why it’s worth a visit: Similar to Sian, I often find myself at 1004 Gourmet to stock up on fresh Asian produce and instant noodle pots for the week. But my true joy lies in the nearby Kinoya, one of Dubai’s top ramen spots. After a short wait, I eagerly don my bib and dig into the chef’s special Shio Paitan. Priced at Dhs67 for a hearty bowl, it’s an incredible deal for a dish that brings immense satisfaction. I savor each bite while tuning into a podcast discussing the weekend’s football matches—pure bliss!
Open daily, noon-1am. The Greens Souk, Onyx Tower 2. Visit: kinoya.com

My weekend favorite: Koncrete
Why it’s worth a visit: This weekend, I plan to revisit Koncrete, a stylish, industrial café located on Jumeirah Beach Road. They are currently hosting a special collaboration with La Maison, one of my favorite bakeries in Dubai, offering a mouthwatering Belgian brown waffle filled with rich Belgian chocolate. I can’t wait to pair this delightful treat with an iced matcha latte for the perfect weekend indulgence.
Open Mon-Thu 8am-10pm, Sat-Sun 8am-midnight. Umm Suqqeim. Call: 050 607 4227

My weekend favorite: Yum Thai
Why it’s worth a visit: My top choice for authentic Thai cuisine is Yum Thai, a charming and cozy restaurant in International City known for its genuine flavors. Despite its small size, the menu is extensive, featuring dishes that transport you straight to the streets of Bangkok. For starters, I highly recommend the yum prawn salad or the yum sweet corn with salted egg yolk. For the main course, the Paneang curry with jasmine rice is a must-try, balancing sweetness with just the right amount of spice. Seafood lovers should not miss the miang pla pao—a must for those who enjoy raw crab, salmon, or prawn options. Just remember to ask for a milder spice level if that’s your preference!
Open daily, 12pm-11:40pm. Delivery available. Visit: yumthai.ae
