A brand new beachfront destination is set to grace Dubai’s coastline following the summer season. J1 Beach Dubai is scheduled to unveil an impressive lineup of 13 licensed fine-dining establishments in the vibrant Jumeirah 1 area, with its doors opening in October 2024. This 500-metre stretch along the shoreline promises a diverse range of culinary experiences, catering to food enthusiasts and beachgoers alike. Here’s a closer look at what awaits at J1 Beach.
African Queen
Making its debut outside of Europe, African Queen at J1 Beach will present patrons with an exquisite fine dining experience nestled in a laid-back atmosphere. Led by the talented Chef Thierry Paludetto, the menu will offer traditional Mediterranean dishes infused with exotic flavors. Expect to be tantalized by creations such as artichokes dressed with vinaigrette and parmesan, a tableside-prepared salade niçoise featuring succulent tuna belly, and the classic filet au poivre. The establishment draws inspiration from the iconic film African Queen, a 1951 British-American adventure classic starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn, promising visitors a taste of history along with their meal.
Almayass by the Sea
For those craving Lebanese-Armenian fusion cuisine, Almayass by the Sea will be a must-visit. With existing branches in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Riyadh, this beloved brand will introduce guests to a feast of mezze-style dishes including manti, kabab karaz, kibeh karaz, sujuk flambe, and warak enab served with creamy yoghurt. Since its inception in Beirut in 1996, Almayass has gained a reputation for marrying traditional recipes with modern culinary techniques, and we can’t wait to savor their offerings.
Bâoli
Joining the culinary landscape at J1 Beach, Bâoli promises a contemporary East Asian dining experience characterized by delicate and innovative flavors. With successful locations in Miami and Cannes, the jungle-themed Bâoli will blend serene aesthetics with a lively ambiance, inviting diners to explore its diverse menu.
Chouchou
Chouchou is set to launch its first global outpost at J1 Beach, featuring a beach and pool lounge that will redefine upscale dining. This exclusive club will offer a family-style French menu with a contemporary twist, along with a members-only beach house. Guests can look forward to a beautifully designed space complete with a living room, a rooftop terrace, and a signature pool. Signature dishes will include extravagant French seafood towers adorned with oysters and caviar, as well as salt-crusted chicken, fish, and romanesco. This venture marks the inaugural concept from the WithLove Hospitality group, founded by four French visionaries with extensive experience in international hospitality.
Gigi Rigolatto
Gigi Rigolatto boasts a vibrant atmosphere featuring two terraces, a lush garden, a bar, a swimming pool, and a whimsical kids’ circus area, all with direct access to the beach. Originally launched in St Tropez in the summer of 2021, this establishment offers a menu inspired by the flavors of Tuscany set within a Mediterranean outdoor space. The licensed venue will also provide stunning sea views, enhancing the overall dining experience.
Gitano
Originating from the lush jungles of Mexico, Gitano has made its mark in Tulum, Miami, New York, and now, it is set to enchant diners at J1 Beach. Guests can look forward to an elevated dining and dancing experience featuring a menu of authentic Mexican cuisine. With its bohemian vibes, Gitano aims to capture the spirit of the gipsy lifestyle, creating a unique dining atmosphere.
INÁ
INÁ will take diners on a multi-sensory adventure, showcasing African-inspired open-fire cooking amidst a cool and inviting ambiance. This establishment aims to celebrate the rich culinary history of the African continent while infusing modern twists into its offerings.
Kaimana Beach
Embodying the Polynesian spirit of the ocean, Kaimana will offer a distinctive dining experience inspired by Asian-Polynesian flavors. Guests can savor dishes like flame-broiled pulehu short ribs paired with fragrant furikake rice, and a tropical salmon salad featuring Pacific salmon, avocado, tomatoes, scallions, and tangerine dressing. Additionally, Kaimana will feature its own private pool and beach area for an exclusive experience.
La Baia by the Beach
From the bustling streets of Manhattan comes La Baia, an Italian restaurant inspired by the breathtaking Amalfi Coast. As its second global location, La Baia will feature an elegant yet understated design, offering both indoor and al fresco dining with panoramic sea views. The menu will celebrate seasonal ingredients sourced from coastal regions, highlighting the flavors of both the sea and the nearby hills, while honoring Italian culinary traditions.
LÚNICO
LÚNICO promises to be an immersive dining journey into the realm of Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine. This lively venue aims to be a memorable destination for diners, showcasing a blend of exquisite cuisine and live entertainment, ensuring a vibrant atmosphere along the beach strip.
Ninive Beach Dubai
Developed by the creative minds behind some of Dubai’s hottest restaurants, Rikas Group is preparing to unveil Ninive Beach at J1 Beach. Expect enchanting twinkling lights, lush foliage, and Middle Eastern-inspired décor. Ninive, already established at Jumeirah Emirates Towers and Bab Al Shams Hotel, will offer a culinary journey across the Middle East and North Africa, drawing influences from Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Morocco. We are eager to see the unique experiences they will bring to this new location.
Sakhalin
Sakhalin aims to elevate gastronomy into an art form, skillfully blending local and Far Eastern ingredients with Mediterranean and Asian recipes to create a unique ‘MediterrAsian’ cuisine. Making its regional debut, the menu will be curated by executive chef Alexey Kogay, featuring a beach view terrace and a stunning fountain centerpiece adorned with illuminated light metal casts. Guests will be able to unwind on beach chaises, enjoying a seamless transition from day to night. Signature dishes include the opulent goldfish roll—crafted with golden nori, bluefin toro, akami, truffle, and black caviar—and the exquisite Sakhalin tiramisu.
Sirene by Gaia
Sirene by Gaia, created by the culinary duo Izu Ani and Evgeny Kuzin, is poised to introduce their celebrated Greek-Mediterranean concept to the shores of J1 Beach. Offering an all-day luxurious beachside experience, the restaurant will feature a specially designed menu crafted by their skilled culinary team. With modern aesthetics and a vibrant schedule of live entertainment, Sirene by Gaia aims to provide an unforgettable dining experience.
