If you’ve managed to secure tickets to see Coldplay in Abu Dhabi—congratulations! The next step is to plan your weekend in the capital. The iconic English band will be gracing the stage at the Zayed Sports City Stadium on two consecutive nights, Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12. Given the immense popularity of the band, it’s no surprise that hotel bookings in Abu Dhabi for that weekend are in high demand.
Since the announcement of the Saturday show, a second performance has been added due to the overwhelming demand for tickets. As reported by Hotelier Middle East, hotel availability in Abu Dhabi for the weekend of the concerts is becoming increasingly scarce.
Hotels for the Saturday, January 11 Concert
The hotels closest to Zayed Sports City are already fully booked for Saturday night. Notable mentions include the Millennium Al Rawdah Hotel, Park Rotana Abu Dhabi, and The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Canal, all of which are currently listed as sold out on booking.com. If you’re looking for accommodations, you might be surprised at the price surge at nearby hotels.
For instance, the Premier Inn Abu Dhabi Capital Centre, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from the stadium, has experienced a significant price hike. A room typically costs around Dhs230 per night, but during the Coldplay concert weekend, the price skyrockets to Dhs1,148—a staggering 399% increase. It’s advisable to book early or consider alternative options if you plan to attend the Saturday show.
Hotels for the Sunday, January 12 Concert
For those attending the second show, the Aloft Abu Dhabi still has rooms available, but at a steep price of Dhs1,665. This represents a considerable increase of 347% from the usual Dhs347 charge for a room. Additionally, the Park Rotana has raised its room rates from Dhs650 to Dhs974 in response to the concert excitement.
Tickets for the highly-anticipated shows start at just Dhs195. They will be released in batches at noon on three consecutive days: Wednesday, September 25, Thursday, September 26, and Friday, September 27. If you haven’t yet secured a ticket, this might be your chance!
For those traveling from Dubai, keep in mind that the arena is about an hour and a half drive away. Given the difficulty in securing hotel accommodations, commuting from Dubai could be a viable alternative.
From Dhs195. Concert dates: Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12. Venue: Zayed Sports City Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Tickets available at livenation.me
