UAE Fuel Prices for October 2024: A Welcome Relief for Motorists
As we approach a new month, it’s time to unveil the latest petrol and diesel prices in the UAE. Motorists can rejoice as fuel prices are set to decrease significantly in October. The United Arab Emirates government, through its petroleum firm Emarat, announces these prices at the end of each month, providing much-needed updates for drivers.
Updated Fuel Prices for October
- Super 98: Now priced at Dhs2.66 per litre, a reduction from Dhs2.90 in September.
- Special 95: Currently at Dhs2.54 per litre, down from Dhs2.78 last month.
- E-Plus 91: Now available for Dhs2.47 per litre, compared to Dhs2.71 in September.
- Diesel: Now costs Dhs2.60 per litre, reduced from Dhs2.78 in the previous month.
The new fuel prices will take effect from Tuesday, October 1, 2024. This price reduction aligns with the seasonal trend observed during the summer months, with June, July, and September all reflecting lower fuel costs. The fluctuating petrol prices have also impacted taxi fares in Dubai, with the current per-kilometre rate set at Dhs2.14. It remains to be seen if the changes in fuel prices will also lead to adjustments in taxi fares.
Since 2015, the UAE has adapted a monthly review system for petrol prices, closely mirroring global oil market trends. Notably, petrol prices reached an all-time high in July 2022, with Super 98 costing Dhs4.63 per litre. The prices peaked again in October 2023 before gradually declining in subsequent months.
