If you’re planning to attend GITEX Global 2024, brace yourself for the bustling streets of Dubai. This year marks the 44th edition of this monumental tech conference, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from Monday, October 14 to Friday, October 18. As the event draws a massive crowd to the emirate, navigating the roads can be quite a challenge. Additionally, the Expand North Star events will be hosted at Dubai Harbour from Sunday, October 13 to Wednesday, October 16. Fortunately, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has shared several practical tips to assist attendees, whether you choose to drive or use public transportation.
How to Get to GITEX Global in Dubai
If you opt to drive to the venue, it’s essential to note that the traffic light system has undergone some modifications. The new Dubai Intelligent Traffic Systems Centre is actively monitoring and adjusting traffic signals to improve flow. Digital signage will be updated in real-time, guiding visitors to utilize the Metro and bus services while suggesting alternative parking locations.
The RTA recommends some alternate routes to reach the Dubai World Trade Centre. You can approach via Al Mustaqbal Street if coming from Al Meydan Street or take Al Sukuk Street if you’re driving along Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s worth mentioning that the area around the Dubai World Trade Centre has a parking capacity for approximately 300 vehicles at any given time.
For those attending both GITEX Global and the Expand North Star events at Dubai Harbour, a convenient shuttle bus service will operate between the two venues.
If you prefer using the Metro, free shuttle buses will transport passengers between the Dubai World Trade Centre Station and Max Station. Additionally, there will be free shuttle services from Palm Jumeirah’s multi-storey car park and Nakheel Metro Station to the Dubai Harbour events.
Using the Dubai Metro to Reach GITEX Global
The Metro service will operate as usual from 5 AM until midnight during the event, except on Fridays when it will extend by an hour. Given that the conference runs from 10 AM to 5 PM, the regular Metro schedule should not pose any inconvenience. Event attendees can find parking options at Jabal Ali, Centrepoint, and Etisalat by e& Metro stations.
If you’re walking from the Metro to the Dubai World Trade Centre, this is undoubtedly the most effective way to reach GITEX Global. For those attending Expand North Star, catch a free shuttle bus from Al Khail Station to the harbour. Furthermore, a free water taxi service will be available from Skydive parking to the Dubai Harbour event site.
Parking at GITEX Global in Dubai
GITEX Global attendees will have access to thousands of parking spaces. Not only is parking available at the Dubai World Trade Centre, but additional options can be found at Al Wasl Club, Al Kifaf, Al Jafiliya, and Dubai Mall. For those attending the Expand North Star events, parking facilities are available at Skydive Dubai and Nakheel Monorail, with free travel options to your final destination.
