Dubai is gearing up for an exhilarating two-week celebration of the Indian Festival of Lights, Diwali. From Friday, October 25, to Thursday, November 7, the city will be adorned with vibrant displays and events that capture the essence of this joyous occasion. With breathtaking firework shows, family-friendly activities, live comedy performances, and bustling markets, there will be countless opportunities to join in the festivities.
This year, the celebration has been extended to six days of official events, surpassing the usual five. The festivities kick off with Dhanteras on Tuesday, October 29, and culminate with the main Diwali day on Friday, November 1. In addition to these key dates, there will be a plethora of exciting activities leading up to and following the holiday itself.
Diwali in Dubai: Fireworks Locations, Times, and Dates
Experience the magic of Diwali with five dazzling fireworks displays scheduled across the city. The inaugural show will take place at Al Seef near Dubai Creek on Friday, October 25, as part of the Noor Festival of Lights celebration. Additional fireworks can be enjoyed at the newly reopened Global Village on:

All displays will commence at 9 PM and will be specially themed around Diwali, adding a festive flair to the weekend celebrations.
Diwali in Dubai: Free Family Events and Markets
The Noor Festival of Lights is set to be a three-day cultural extravaganza filled with theatrical performances, stand-up comedy, musical shows, art displays, delicious Indian cuisine, and enchanting puppet processions, taking place from Friday, October 25, to Sunday, October 27. Best of all, this event is free for all families to attend.
Families can also partake in the Deepavali Utsav funfair at Etisalat Academy on Saturday, October 26, featuring traditional Indian folk dance performances, thrilling games, amusement rides, and mouth-watering food stalls. If you’re looking for unique shopping experiences, the Indian pavilion at Global Village will host Diwali markets from Monday, October 28, to Sunday, November 3.
On Sunday, October 27, the Deep Utsav at Glendale International School in Oud Metha will offer a lively atmosphere with Dhol Tasha drummers, dance performances, a live DJ, games, competitions, and interactive activities for children. To shop for festive attire, jewelry, handbags, home decor, skincare products, and handicrafts, head to the Diwali Fiesta Exhibition at Pullman Dubai JLT Hotel and Residence on Saturday, October 26. Additionally, the Diwali Edit – Fashion and Luxury Exhibition will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton M Square on the same day.
Diwali in Dubai: Live Comedy, Music, and Theatre
The comedy scene will be graced by UK stand-up sensation Romesh Ranganathan, who will perform live at the Coca-Cola Arena on Friday, October 25. Tickets for this highly anticipated show are still available. Theatre enthusiasts will not want to miss “Meera: Echoes of Love,” a captivating performance that beautifully blends dance, theatre, and music at the Dubai British School in Jumeirah Park on Saturday, October 26. For those seeking a thrilling theatrical experience, Ashvin Gidwani’s “Barff,” featuring Saurabh Shukla from the renowned film Slumdog Millionaire, will be showcased at the Zabeel Theatre on Friday, November 8.
