Upcoming Changes in UAE Petrol Prices for December 2024

As we approach December, it’s hard to believe how quickly time has flown. With the end of the year nearly upon us, many residents of the UAE are curious about what the petrol prices will look like next month. In November, we saw a slight increase in the cost of petrol and diesel, and there is hope for a drop in prices as we head into December.

The new petrol rates in Dubai will take effect on Sunday, December 1, and here are the current prices:

• Super 98: Dhs2.74 per litre
• Special 95: Dhs2.63 per litre
• E-Plus 91: Dhs2.63 per litre
• Diesel: Dhs2.67 per litre

Petrol prices in the UAE are officially announced at the end of each month by the federal government, via its petroleum company Emarat. Throughout 2024, we have observed fluctuations in prices, with May marking the peak and October witnessing the lowest rates of the year.

Since the liberalization of fuel prices in 2015, local rates have been aligned with global oil prices. The fuel price committee meets monthly to evaluate and announce revised rates. The government’s aim is to encourage citizens to utilize public transportation while promoting the use of alternative fuels.
