Petrol Prices for December 2024: A Slight Decrease
The anticipated fuel prices for December 2024 have been announced, showing a modest decrease in the cost motorists will incur for petrol this month. However, those who rely on diesel will see an increase of one fil per litre. The United Arab Emirates federal government, through its petroleum company Emarat, reveals the new fuel rates on the last day of each month. These updated prices will take effect starting Sunday, December 1, 2024.
New Petrol Prices for December 2024
- Super 98: Now priced at Dhs2.61 per litre, down from Dhs2.74 in November.
- Special 95: Now priced at Dhs2.50 per litre, down from Dhs2.54 in November.
- Diesel: Now priced at Dhs2.68 per litre, slightly up from Dhs2.67 in November.
Fuel prices in the UAE are standardized across all seven emirates and are revised on a monthly basis. This price adjustment reflects the trends observed over the summer and autumn months, where June, July, September, and October all experienced reductions in fuel costs.
Since the liberalization of fuel prices in 2015, the UAE has adjusted petrol prices monthly in alignment with global market fluctuations. The peak price for petrol was recorded in July 2022, with Super 98 reaching Dhs4.63 per litre. In 2023, petrol prices peaked in October before experiencing declines in November, December, and January.
