Celebrate New Year’s Day in Dubai

Planning to ring in the New Year in the vibrant city of Dubai? You’ll be delighted to learn that public parking will be free on this festive day! All public parking areas will not require payment (with the exception of multi-storey parking) on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, in honor of the New Year’s holiday. Regular paid parking services will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Road Closure Alerts

As the city prepares for the festivities, it’s important to note that Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will be closed starting in the early evening on December 31. If you have made reservations near this area for New Year’s Eve, it is advisable to arrive early to avoid any inconvenience. Below is a list of confirmed road closures and their timings, as announced by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA):

• Sheikh Zayed Road will gradually close from 11:00 PM.
• Al Asayal Street will be closed from 4:00 PM.
• Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard will close starting at 4:00 PM.
• Burj Khalifa Street will also close from 4:00 PM.
• The lower deck of Financial Centre Street will be closed at 4:00 PM.
• Al Mustaqbal Street will close beginning at 4:00 PM.
• Al Sukuk Street will be closed from 8:00 PM.
• The upper deck of Financial Centre Street will close at 9:00 PM.

RTA-affiliated service centers and Customer Happiness Centres will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, for the New Year’s holiday, and regular operating hours will resume on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Dubai Metro Service Schedule

Dubai Metro:

• Tuesday, December 31, 2024: Operational from 5:00 AM to 11:59 PM.
• Wednesday, January 1, 2025: Available from midnight until 11:59 PM.

Dubai Tram Service Schedule

Dubai Tram:

• Tuesday, December 31, 2024: Operating from 6:00 AM to 11:59 PM.
• Wednesday, January 1, 2025: Service from midnight to 1:00 AM (the following day).

Public Bus Information

Public Buses (Dubai Bus): For the latest bus timings during the New Year’s holiday, riders are encouraged to check the S’hail app. Please note:

• Route E100: The E100 bus route from Al Ghubaiba Bus Station will be suspended from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025. Passengers should use Route E101 from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Abu Dhabi during this time.
• Route E102: The E102 bus route from Al Jafiliya Bus Station will also be suspended from December 31, 2024, to January 1, 2025. Passengers should take the same route from Ibn Battuta Bus Station to Shabiya Musaffah during this period.

Marine Transport Updates

Water Taxi:

• Marina Mall to Bluewaters (BM3): From 4:00 PM to midnight.
• On-demand services: Available from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM (prior booking required).
• Marina Mall 1 to Marina Walk (BM1): From noon to 11:10 PM.
• Marina Promenade to Marina Mall 1 (BM1): From 1:50 PM to 9:45 PM.
• Marina Terrace to Marina Walk (BM1): From 1:50 PM to 9:50 PM.
• Full route services operate from 3:55 PM to 9:50 PM.

Dubai Ferry:

• Al Ghubaiba to Dubai Water Canal (FR1): Departing at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
• Dubai Water Canal to Al Ghubaiba (FR1): Departing at 2:25 PM and 7:25 PM.
• Dubai Water Canal to Bluewaters (FR2): Departing at 1:50 PM and 6:50 PM.
• Bluewaters to Marina Mall (FR2): Departing at 2:55 PM and 7:55 PM.
• Marina Mall to Bluewaters (FR2): Departing at 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
